Every person is uniquely special and beautiful in their own way. Nicole Lucas Hallson is a mother raising two wonderful children, Asher and Winry. But beyond that, she is on a heartfelt mission to prove that our imperfections make us perfect. Her daughter Winry was born with a rare birthmark called congenital melanocytic nevi (CMN), which covers about a quarter of her face.
When Winry was born, Nicole was shocked and worried. She initially thought the mark was a bruise, but doctors confirmed it was a rare birthmark. Though it made Winry look different from other children, Nicole quickly grew to love and celebrate her daughter’s uniqueness.
The family is aware that the birthmark can increase the risk of skin cancer, so they take special care to protect Winry’s skin with sunscreen and regular doctor visits. Nicole shares Winry’s story to raise awareness and encourage others to accept and embrace differences. She believes that children with birthmarks or other unique features should feel proud of who they are, not ashamed.
Winry is a joyful, energetic baby who lights up every room she enters, and Nicole wants everyone to see that beauty comes in many forms. Despite the challenges, Nicole’s message is clear: differences are something to celebrate, not fear or hide. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful and confident just as they are. By sharing Winry’s story, Nicole hopes to inspire love, acceptance, and confidence in children and adults everywhere.
