Accused of Strangling Her Three Kids, Lindsay Clancy Finally Appears In Person in Court

Duxbury, Massachusetts mother Lindsay Clancy, accused of strangling her three young children to death in 2023 before attempting suicide and becoming paraplegic, appeared in person in Plymouth court for the first time on Friday (February 20, 2026). She had previously attended pretrial hearings via Zoom from Tewksbury State Hospital.

Clancy was wheeled into the courtroom in a wheelchair, wearing a black suit, and sat quietly during the motion hearing, which covered scheduling, mental health discovery compliance, and other pretrial matters. Arguments on several issues, including her defense’s request for a split trial (to separately determine guilt and mental state), were delayed to March 2.

Her attorney has highlighted that she was prescribed up to 12 medications, which allegedly caused her to hear voices. Her husband reportedly warned doctors that the treatments were turning her into a “zombie.”

Clancy is charged with murder and strangulation in the deaths of her children: Cora (5), Dawson (3), and Callan (8 months old, though some reports note 7 months). She has pleaded not guilty. Her trial is scheduled to begin July 20, 2026.

Her parents attended the hearing and described her as a “loving mother, always has been.”
